What did you learn @ Herman Li's clinic?

just back from the clinic, found it informative. among others, some learning points were:

*Importance of midrange for guitars-Herman managed to shed some light on the EQ's midrange presence which isn't new, Frank Gambale has been boosting his mids all this while (which inspired me to do likewise) but hearing the boosted mids in action really helps...

*Non-Japanese Ibanez- we heard from the man himself; non-Jap Ibanez are just as good. note Herman's Indonesian craftsmanship acknowledgement...

No offence but i think.. SOME of the questions asked were just inappropriate.. they were like personal ones and got nothing to do with guitars and techniques whatsoever. It's a GUITAR clinic not an interview. lol.

and.... some of them... 8O ---- "Can I have the pick?" --- WTF. lol.

Herman seems kinda dissapointed at the end during the autograph session but he kept his cool. I kinda pity him actually and that's why I wrote it out to share my thoughts.

Again, no offence bros.. but this is just my opinion on how things turned out there.. but if u guys think what i said is rubbish than so be it. You may fire me all you want. :D

we can infer from the type of questions asked- some of the participants were simply too young to avoid juvenile enquiries. no offence if you are within this age group; if you are respectable, age doesn't matter... :smt069

the dude ACTUALLY asked for the pick. 8O

what the,

arent ppl going there to learn more abt guitar? not about herman li himself? :(

to be fair to them, Herman did permit other non-guitar related questions but as you've witnessed, there were some lame questions being asked but it's reflective of the crowd who were largely young people...
