Hi peers...

need some enlightenment here...

im intending to buy a 2nd-hand keyboard/digital piano, whatever you call it.. so long as I can still play them like how i used to with my old digital piano..

I saw people selling Yamaha DGX-205 and also DGX-520...
Which one is better?

Any comments???? pls help.......
totally confused abt all the specs... :( sigh.......

tks in advance!!!

What are the prices for each of those models? DGX-520 has 88 keys, and slightly more sounds and accompaniment styles than DGX-205 (which has 76 keys).

Hihi....

Dgx520 is gg at $520... And dgx205 is $350....
Both are abt 2years old.... I'm in between e 2, and also quite clueless abt the functions.

All I know is wat u mentioned, other than that, also dunno wat else to look out for.
Help help.....

If you are a pianists and require more keys, then go for 88. If you are not a pianist, then 76 is more than enough. As for the number of styles etc, the differences between the two models are not that great. So make your decision based on the number of keys.

Hi... I've not really been playing piano for many years, but jus wondering what's much difference with 12 keys lesser? It's like 1.5octaves difference... So can't really imagine e difference.. :( on a tight budget too... ::scratch head::

If you haven't been playing piano for a long while, and don't see the difference between 76 and 88 keys, then just go for the 76. If you are a pianist, trust me. 76 and 88 are world's apart. Those 12 keys make a lot of difference.

CHER,

I'm just puzzled. If you had played the piano, why are you going for non-weighted keys?

On specs of keyboards, do you intend to play with music accompaniment (like a backup band in the case of the DGX) or do you just want to play with the piano instrument voice?

To me, I wouldn't consider any of the two DGX you've chosen, but would go for an 88 wieighted key digital piano or keyboard. Do visit some of the showrooms to find feel of the keyboard that you are looking for, and also the type of keyboard you are looking for. Then look out for perhaps previous models with similar feel in the used market.

It can be easy to find what you want, but you have to know what you want.
