HI ROCKERS!!

HELP!!!

Here i am using a Strat with normal pick ups ( SSS)
I want to use Strat to play metal or Slash sound..
Any intro? maybe from..

1. dimarzio(set)
2. emg
3. Seymour Duncan

Which 1 is best ah? can i know the choices avaliable. thx. is it good to MIX?

And does different pick up really make a lot difference?

Thanks.. love ya..

Bro. Rock on.

emgs? active, high gain juice at ur fingertips.

they pick up the vibrations from the string so yes they are important :P

no best. but i recommend dimarzio hs2 for the neck, though they say is best in the middle but i stucked it in my neck. Loved it!

check out the dimarzios hum cancelling pups for the higher output ones for the bridge.

ah any kinda pickups in the strat can do metal if u have the right amp. ure not really gonna get slash's sound unless u use a gibson thru a marshall stack.

There is a nice dude selling HS-3 and YJM, maybe u can pm him?

They are, imo, decent for some rock stuffs :)

i use a SD hot rails on my bridge, sounds great with it, i think a YJM will sound good on the neck though, gonna change my current JB-JR to the YJM soon, the current one does not sound good, to me it is very dark and not powerful enough.. :P

hey, i'm sellin' both the HS-3 and YJM...

and yeah, i am nice

tks for givin' freddy the heads up,man!

cheers guys!

i own a fender srat with the config of YJM,Class of 55,Seymour Duncan Jb junior and i can tell ya the YJM is not a powerful pickup. Dark sounding and bassy yes!~ but its ultra quiet for neck position. Best if you can hear it for yourself and decide b4 using cash to learn 8)

i'll say get the Duncan SET from Davis.

Lil59 neck, forgot the mids and JB Jr bridge.

Do it. You'll be happy with the change.

metal? get a new Humbucker / humbucker strat pickguard from stewart McDonald then get a x2n for the bridge & a humbucker from hell for the neck...

will installing these pickups in a strat make it lose it's signature sound tt strats are known for?

These pups are essentially single coil sized humbuckers.

To get back that signature strat sound (or close to it), i normally recommend a coiltap switch which splits these stacked hums to single coil, enabling you to get back that single coil sound.

This coiltap switch can be a miniswitch, or what i most commonly use for this mod without any drilling to the guitar body/pickguard is a push/pull volume (or tone pot) which replaces the stock one.

When you pull on the pot, the stacked hums are in single coil mode and vice versa.

PM me if you need this mod done on your axe.

Cheers! 8)

l change my pups to sd hot rail(B),HS3(neck) n im goin to put YJM on the middle. So far i used hot rail for playing metal its super HOT!! And HS3 mostly for overdrive.I also fixed a pull push vol pot so tat i can have single coil tone..
