Calling for help from all of you here! I'm now using the Jackson DX10FDS guitar, as you see this guitar got this Seymour Duncan® Firestorm™ Boost Switch. The prob now is that whenever i turn on Firestorm switch, the amp will be very fuzzy (which had not happened before) and sometimes the amp will be "muted". Can anyone help me with this??

Sounds like the battery is dying, or maybe one of the wires came loose.
So it's ok when the boost is off?

Hmmm the battery is quite new man and i seldom on the boost. The guitar is perfectly alright without the boost though. What should i do??

Change the battery first before you come to a conclusion. Or re-insert the battery. Sometimes its the battery connecting plates that is not well-aligned to the battery.

I did this when my Parker Nitefly piezo also sounded fuzzy. Once I readjusted the battery, everything was alright.

so now adays it *never* works ?

I have a feeling that the firestorm thing might be just a simple 1 transistor boost circuit based on a FET (field effect transistor). Possibly the transistor might have blown. Think its unlikely that a toggle switch will spoil, and if it spoils, it is like still possible for it to work sometime.. at certain positions.

I can take a look at it for you for free, I think most probably it'll be something simple. just have you bring to guitar to me.... and give me sometime.... what i get is.....ha the "secrets" of Firestorm...
