Help on multi effects

Hi all

I have been self-learning the electric guitar for close to 2 years now and I am looking to get a multi effects pedal at the upcoming sale. I'm rather new to effects and do not have any special preferences, though I am rather interested in the noise gate function.

Due to budget constraints, I have limited my choices to zoom ZFX, G2.1u, Korg AX3000G and the VOX tonelab ST. Hence, I hope you all would give me some tips and recommendations! And we have to bring our guitar along to test the pedal right?

You can test the multi-effects with the guitars they have there, actually. Find something of the same bodywood and type of pickups and you can roughly gauge how it'll sound with your own guitar.

Oh ok, but it is better to bring your own guitar along right? Since it will be the one you will be playing with.

its better to but not necessary.follow EugeneSmasher's suggestion.just pick a guitar that has smiliar body wood and pups and should be fine.besides a multi-effect you can tweak the knobs to make it sound good on any kind of guitars.;] why not consider the Boss me-50,to me it sounds alright for now

perhaps you can try the Zoom G2.1U. with the right settings dialed in, decent tone is easily achievable

Some shops require you to leave your bags and stuff near the front of the store, so I'm not sure if they'll allow you to bring your guitar with you into the store...
