help on bass amp

hi peeps,. i went down to sweelee sale this afternoon but was only able to check stuffs 15 min or less as they're already closing,...

i saw the laney / fender / swr / peavey bass amps are available at 50%off,.

i was looking at swr and peavey,....kindly help advice on which is which do you think is okay? anyone tried it before? cos the sale wont let me try,.

im using an active 5 strings ibanez bass and play top 40.

u can try other amps except SWR , i am always nt satisfied with their amps, too bassy. but thts my own opinion la :?

Ever since(you know who) bought out SWR....Quality was expected to drop.
If you dig the Hi-Fi sound, go ahead and buy an SWR.

hi all,

i just bought my peavey 115 max,....and there is the cd in function,.
but it does not seem to work,.. i plugged my ipod in and no sound is coming out,. but when i plug it in the input jack,.the sound is okay.

the manual does not say much,... so please,. any ideas anyone?

Thanks for the reply,. the jack is the same as my bass jack (1/4)

i got my ipod--->cd in[amp] no sound
but ipod--->input[amp] okay, got sound

am i doing it the wrong way? cos i was thinking of using the cd in jack to play along with some stuffs i play,..

any advice would be very much appreciated,....

Do you have the headphone mini-jack to 1/4" converter?
Is there a volume knob for the CD Input which you have to turn up?
If it works by plugging into the INPUT Jack, than I suggest you give Swee Lee a call. They might have sold you a dud.

the cd input does not have any volume,...
if i plug my ipod to the "input" (where u plug your bass) it's okay
if i plug my ipod to the "return" (efx loop) its okay
if i plug my ipod to the "cd in" (efx loop) not okay

hey cheyen,

i believe the CD input requires a RCA L/R in from a 3.5mm jack which is your headphone jack size. Do you have that?

If you have ... try changing another one ... may be your cable. If it still doesn't work when you've changed the jack .. then ... it's the amp .. hahaha ..

I have changed cables and it now works!!!
but the thing is that,. if i plug in the cable all the way,. there is still no sound,... but plug it half-way,. the sound is okay,...
