Help needed in Guitar technique

Hi guys,

I'm a 3-month-old player, got to know some basic open chords and stuff. Still got the passion going on.

I've seen some guitarists playing chords while plucking, such as this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb9ipkpySag&feature=related

I tried to find tutorials and help, are these "chord plucking" termed Arpeggios?
Then I see sweep picking and all those profound music stuff, I don't wish to go really into music theory.

Any idea where can I read more on this technique? Please advice thank you.

nah man no theory required, it is a technique, just like picking etc

you just need to be able to hear which notes he's picking

a chord played in its individual notes is called an arpeggio, but this technique is called fingerpicking

maybe you could google up some fingerpicking tutorials

and it can be combined with a pick too, its called hybrid picking

honestly, its pretty hard to understand without theory... so i guess u might wanna rethink about whether to learn it a lil

Try "spanish romance". It's a nice beginner song and there's a lot of finger picking
