MIJ > MIK > MIC
MIJ Epi's are known as Elitist Models. Recently they have been discontinued.

in GENERAL,
MIK Epi's are a better choice, their QC(Quality Control) is better than MIC.
MIK Epi's have higher resale value than MIC too.
MIK Epi's are no longer in production. All Epi production are based in China now.

*Of course, there are always some MIC guitars that are better or on par with MIK/MIJ & vice versa.
Like what softies always say, "there are lemons in every brand"
Some even argue that some Epi's are better than Gibson Studio Model..

The bottom line is, go try out the guitars urself.
Find one that you feel comfortable with.
If you're unsure whether the guitar sounds good, you can always go with an experienced friend..

Hope i've answered your question.. You can also do a search cause this question has been asked MANY times. There are endless arguments anyway.

My own opinion on Epiphones is to TRY it out first..
I have an MIC Faded G-400.. I must say, this was the best Epiphone I've ever tried.. The only other Epiphone which was equally well constructed was an MIK limited edition Custom Shop Wildkat..
And these 2 guitars have beaten ALL the Gibsons I've tried, except for a Voodoo LP at Blackwoods and the SG Standard next to me..:mrgreen:

MICs = Lemon? Sometimes.. But their gems have seriously outshone MANY good guitars out there..

It is best that you try them out, and get someone experienced to tag along.. There was once I tried a Stagg tele that was going for around $150.. I hate teles, but that guitar was insanely good.. Almost wanted to not buy my Gibbie for that.. But that one got sold, and all the other teles were good, but not AS good as that one.. The gem was gone, and some lucky dude out there has it!!! :???:

common sense items in china = not so good as japan / korea in electronic devices or electronic things mah... Japan inventor of electronic devices i think :) but i don't know for guitar la. think still japan better

I really beg to differ. You haven't read soft enough eh? There are crap Japanese instruments too, it's just that you don't see them often as they are removed from the market due to their poorer quality.

Agreed with meekahsoh. It is not common sense that products from China is inferior to Japan/ Korea. Judging the comments you made, I guess you have to read up more.
