hey guys, im a newbie on guitar , tried to play some chords, but sometimes,
the strings that i strum give me a 'tik' sound, not like a normal guitar sound,
issit my finger pressing too hard or what?
i cannot figure out why sometimes the guitar will give me the tik sound..
its not a buzz,
when i lift up my finger from the string and strum, the sound is normal.
i tink its how i pres down the string that affect the sound can any1 help me

try fingering the notes one by one, do they sound normal to you?
if yes, then you're not fretting the chords properly. You need to be able to apply accurate and consistent pressure on the notes across the fretboard, but don't press too hard. I'd say take a week and work on your finger strength first.

it could also mean that you got a warped neck & some dead notes along the fretboard register. which guitar is yours?

hmm sounds like either you are not pressing the strings properly, or not hard enough. should get a guitarist friend to help you out face to face.

i usually have that in my no-brand classical guitar. i blame the high action of the strings. makes me press so hard then can. if not...TKTKTKTK is what comes out. haha.

try press them individually.

haha i used to complain about the high action of no-brand classical and acoustic guitars too. but actually on hindsight they are good for training. when i switched to other guitars i found them easier to play :)

yesyes. but what the hey. i sucked on the high action no-brand-er, i suck less on my electric. now my fingers all muscular from the classic playing

haha yeah! so the conclusion is to use a high action guitar as a beginner and excel once you change to a better guitar! low action on guitar, high action on fingers! haha :)
