What guitar is that? A Flying V ? If you don't wanna waste your money, try getting used to the guitar or learn from other people with the same guitar how they play with it.

for sure they will say something but you
can explain to them that it is not the right one for you or not good enough
afterall its your own hard earned money

or you can tell them you exchanged it with a friend & it was a good deal

Simple - tell them you sold it at a profit ... & using the money to get an "upgrade model" to help in your musical aspirations ... Parents luv good business sense ;)

im 100% with fgl on this.
tell them u sold it at a profit. I do that all the time... tell my dad i sold my stuff at a profit tt is... coz he likes to criticize my spending habits...
im god-damn 25 lah damnit!

Tell them the truth. That this particular guitar doesn't suit you, and explain why (in this case, the shape). After all, a guitar is a very personal instrument.

For example. Some people love the Ibanez Iceman, but I just hate it because the shape and bridge placement hinders my playing. So it's really a personal instrument in the sense that they're all different in some way.

lying to parents = BAD.

tell the truth = GOOD.

if ur parents paid for it, then just tell them u have a change of opinion.

if its ur hard earned money, just say its ur money and its ur lost.

side story = everytime i spend money on guitar stuffs and my mom asks about it, i'd go "at least i dont spend it on things i dont use and with guitars, i dont laze around in the house sleeping the whole day or make trouble outside *eyes refers to someone else in the house*"

Be honest with ur parents. it goes a long way even if short term reprimand occurs. Let them know thru such encounters u r learning acumen & judgement and u will be a better decision-maker in future. Cheers! : )

No offense to anybody here but I want to add that lying is the very thing dishonest sellers do. If lying were to become a norm and a 'recommended tactic', seriously who can you ever trust and/or rely on?

it's unfortunate that u guys are teaching him to lie to his parents.

TS: have the courage to tell the truth. Be a real man.

thanks guys.my parents finally agreed with me.i told them i dont really like my guitar and its not comfortable to play..so ya...tnx!
