help i think my new korg X50 is stillborn ):

My Korg X50 has only been a day old.. it's hooked up to the comp and i have the editor software on but after a while the screen on my keyboard becomes like this:



Does anyone know why is that so? Am i doing anything that may be harmful to my korg? ):

Also i realised that even if this X50 isn't hooked to the comp the screen still goes crazy like this after a while. Citymusic isn't opened today and i think i'm going to die )):

Uh oh... I think your keyboard's buggy. Is there an update on korg's website for the firmware? If so, you can try to update it and see what happens.. If not return to Citymusic for repair/exchange if the gaurentee is still on...

Was the x50 able to syncronise with the editor software?

Is the screen "crash" solvable by turning the power off?


I have experienced crashed before but they were all solvable with power down and on again.

digihub00 - yep i feel like taking a mc just to get to the shop tmr )):

MadWereWolfBoy - i don't think/see any update on any firmware on korg's website.. and googling doesn't yield any results. seems like this is quite a rare case..

utano - yup it can syncronise alright with the editor software. the screen 'crash' isn't solvable by turning power off/on etc.. it just comes back after a while each time when i reset the whole thing. thanks though for sharing!

Yup digihub00 and thanks alot for the advice/encouragement! I went down this evening to City Music and the good folks over there changed mine for a new unit after seeing the screen go bongus. Phew. so relieved! Thanks!! =D
