Hey Softies,
Need help with deciding on a new amp, and so far have narrowed down these two. can't really tell which would be a better take as i only had firsthand experience with the blues jnr. would really appreciate some professional advice!!
am using pedals for effects/overdrive so dont really need my amp to have reverb or any sort of modulations. looking for it as a bedroom amp that is able to power up a small auditorium(say 100 pax) if need be. don't intend to spend more than $800 on the new amp.
also i use a Fender EJ strat with all Single coils.
from what i've gathered(pls correct me if im wrong): -
Fender Blues Junior
- portable, light weight.
- very nice warm tube sound which responses well with pedals
- most find the stock set-up lacking in certain areas, and have hence resorted to mods?
- gets muddy at times?
- poor reverb
Vox AC15
- sparkles in clean
- certainly able to crank up
- harsh with single coils?
- poor material quality for the build?
- sure helps that citymusic has a sale for them now
and there's also the debate on whether the china-made vox ac15cc versions are well-built and lives up to the sound of their british counterparts..
or feel free to recommend me something else within $800 range.
THANKS.
