HELP: Epiphone Lespaul Ultra III USB port and recording.

Hi everyone !

I've got an epiphone lespaul ultra III.The one with the USB port.
I've download the guitar rig available when purchasing this guitar.
Here comes my problem :

i use a normal cable and link the guitar to my laptop.
However , the latency is way too high. I've tried all the possible solutions,settings of my laptop etc.
But it's still the same.

I'm wondering whether i have to get a better cable or just get an audio interface ?
I new to home recording therefore i need as much help possible.
