Help choose a new guitar

Hey guys, i'm thinking of upgrading my guitar.

I play more of rock songs...like aerosmith, bon jovi, lynrd skynrd and some of slash too.

Actually i'm looking at two guitars, the heritage h150 and the prs ce24, both sound ok for me...so i'm wondering which is a better buy :-)

Oh i dun mind if you guys recommend other guitars :) my budget is about 2k+

Thanks! :D

With that budget, there is no way you can buy those guitars first hand. Head down to 2nd hand stores like Guitar Connection or G77 and have a look. Specify your budget so they can assist you with your purchase.

Also, most guitars can play the genre you want to play. Judging from the bands you have mentioned, you are steering towards the direction of a Les Paul. However, your budget is a little short from getting a Gibson Les Paul Standard (2nd hand) so look at alternatives (Mahogany body guitars) & find a guitar that is comfortable for you meaning the switches are all in the right places, the neck is comfortable for you etc.

Well.....I'd say if you have 2k++ already...go save more until 3k++ and then get yourself a PRS CE24

(From Someone Who bought a lot of mid-low items, before finally staying put with a Stingray and a Taylor Ltd)

Oh, actually the ce24 is like $2750 and the Heritage is $2400 so it's okay for me :)

Also, i found a Gibson lp standard for $2850...maybe it was 2nd handor something so it's cheep :P
...anyway, should i go for it?? I saw it at Blackwood.

Both are great guitars.
Just boils down to what you what from the guitar.
The Heritage has 22 frets, the PRS 24.
Heritage standard pickup selector, PRS 5-way.
Heritage is more massive, typical fat LP tones, PRS is less, more similar to an SG tone but with more twang.
Both has great resale value.
Both has a maple top to give some upper range spank to the thicker mahogany.
Heritage of course, has the factory mojo (made in the same factory with same equipment as vintage Gibsons and same staff as well).
PRS has the cool ass inlays in this case.

All depends on your personal preference.

Oh if you want a Gibson, try looking at a pre-2000 model if possible. There's a distinctive difference in QC and overall Quality. Plus I personally would choose Heritage LPs over Gibsons. If Heritage made an SG I'd be all over it. And for PRS you can look at what Brendon at BGW has to offer.

There's an Ebony Gibson LP Standard which I saw at Sound Alchemy going for cheaper. Not sure of the model. Second hand as well.

+1 to that. Brendon offers some great services when you purchase guitars from him. Free set up FOR LIFE. and you are entitled to a 3 day Tone-rite treatment for your guitar, supposed to help the wood to mature quicker. The plus sides of getting stuff from him:)
And his prices are quite reasonable as well!

Oh on a lighter side, he sends you christmas cards with goodies too:D

Oh... i didn't noe about the goodies.. xD And I know he tone-rites your acoustic guitar. Does he do the some

Oh yeah, i talked to Brendon already, but all of his are above 3k... D:

I think the PRS tone is not really for me, so i guess it is between the lp models...
So which would you recommend? The Gibson LP at 2850 or the Heritage at 2400??
I heard that you pay more for the Gibson name, but they have better resale value

Aiyo, when you buy a guitar, think of how you're gonna use it. not how you're gonna sell it off in the end!!

Heritage is technically a Gibson in all but branding.
AFAIK the workers/equipment/factory are the same, Gibson left them there when they moved. And there are many accounts of Heritage being better than Gibson.
But relinquish is right, try them all.

Haha, thanks alot guys for all the great advice! :D

I guess i'll go for the Heritage in the end, i like the hot tone it has :P
