I wanna get a headphone for my amp.. Sound proofing my room is quite troublesome..

Can recommend me brands and their prices? And the place to get them? Thanks

i used AKG 141S before for my amp (assuming urs has a headphone out), quite liked it. very warm sounding and doesn't have too much over emphasized high freq.
Am currently using either Grado SR60 or a Sony 7506 headphones thru my pod xt live. preference is with the sony but no complaints on both.
haven't tried others with it.
Sony (about 200+) and AKG (170+) i bought from Hung Bros at sim lim. Grados (120) at Music By Design at Adelphi.
I think any decent pair of cans will do. i also tried a Sennheiser thru it before and it was sweet. sorry can't remember model.

Ah yes im using thru the headphones output...

its like guitar -> efx -> amp -> and then headphones...

So the headphones need convertor?

Cause my amp's is the bigger hole one. Like normal cable's jack.

the headphones i have mentioned above all come with a 1/4" converter. which means yes, u can plug it straight into ur amp headphones out.

If you want some cheap headphones for your amp, the shop at the highest floor in penin sells it for like $5. It's all in a red basket so you can give that a try.

Maybe not so cheap? How abt headphones, from 80 to 100 type.. Good?

Any recommendations with that bduget?

Stanton Headphones

Hey, I just bought a new headphones today from Esden Trading located in Sim Lim Square 3rd floor. They've some Stanton DJ headphones there. I've never heard of it before actually, but after I saw the specs of the freq response of 1 of the headphone, I was actually marvelled :smt023 . For the 'lowest end' DJ Pro 60 model, the freq response is 3Hz to 28000Hz :smt119 . Read more of it here :smt020 http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/Stanton_DJ_Pro_60___headphones/4507-6468_16-31278400.html?tag=tab

I was doing 'on-the-spot' testing with the headphones on display cos I had always carried my mp3 player around wherever I go. The shop tender was a nice middle age man, and he helped me with the testing over 4 other models that he recommended until I finally decide to settle with the DJ 60 model. I'm very happy with its performance and besides, it cost only $45, very reasonable price tag I must say. The next-in-line model costs about $80 and the rest are way over my budget amounting like $108 and $185 or so. And oh yes, all the Stanton headphones comes with either a converter from the audio-jack plug (3.5mm) to the cable/guitar-jack (6.3mm) or itself is already in the 6.3mm size, so I think it fits your usage.

If you happen to drop by Sim Lim Square, you might want to drop by the shop and check out these headphones. I must say, the DJ 60 is definitely better than any of those on sale in the Sony stores. :smt043

(P/S : our ears can only detect sounds of the frequency from 20Hz to 20kHz ideally. Varies from person to person and over aging.)

Try
Sony MDR7xx6/9 series, AKG K240S/270S, Fostex T40s are industry standards. Some one from US advised me.

I have AKG K240DF and going to buy the Sony soon. I have purchsed one HPX200 Beringer recently, but not comfortable with the sound, compared with AKGK240DF
