HD280 or ATHM50 as the best affordable headphones for mixing?

I'm searching for closed back headphones that is affordable for mixing. I chose closed back because i don't wish to disturb the people around me with any sound leak. The headphones are for my polytechnic course, so they'd have to last for at least 3 years. I can't decide between these two, so can any of you kind souls tell me which is better? You can also suggest another set that is better but my budget is SGD$200 since i'm still a student. Thank you!

Hi! I am using the HD280 and shr440... Both are pretty good and value for money headphones. Just like any other gear that is made in china, it is definitely possible to last beyond 3 years with proper care... You can check out amazon or sweetwater for user reviews...

I have not tried the Athm50 so i wont comment on the 'goodness'. The HD280 is actually a common hdphone you would see at a recording studio. If budget is a concern, the HD201 is the best alternative, quite popular among field sound crews...
