Hammer and pull offs

Lets say I have this:

17 P 12 H 14 H 17 P 14 P 12.


Does this mean i pluck the string only once?

But when i pull off at the first part, there's no sound, any idea why?

kinda pull the string down a lil bit to make it sound rather than just lifting your finger?

I keep trying it but it still sounds v soft, not like the one on the cd( I bought a guitar book and it came with a cd). Anyway to improve it? The one of the cd sounds so clear :?

Wa, u cannot expect to sound the same as the cd la, cause u dont know wat they are usin...maybe a guitar with a substainer lei.......Try puttin more gain or reverb.

use your 1st, 2nd and 4th finger.
you gotta work on your stretch though.
