Hamer Guitars

Hey,
regarding to the above, are they any good?. I quite like the body of the studio custom. I saw it at Citymusic. Anybody knows anything about this guitar, Hamer Studio Custom?. There are also other models with the same body. The body is nice to me. Any other guitars with the same body?

I don't play the guitar but i play the bass .. but i have experience with Hamer guitars before.

I use to own a Hamer Cruise Bass .. really nice built to it .. it was Korean-made .. i really loved the guitar but i had to sell it somehow ..

Personally i think that Hamer has good quality to it.. but just recently they changed their production factory from Korea to China . things are cheaper but i feel that the quality may have dropped ..

Pretty much all the Hamer models have the same double cut shape as the studio custom, well with the exception of the california series, the monaco, and etc. I currently own a Hamer SATF. Plus points for construction and craftmanship. I've been banging the bugger around for nearly 2 years now and it still looks pretty darn good.

Tonewise, don't expect anything miraculously out of the ordinary. I must warn you though, IMHO the tone of Hamers is more inclined towards the bassy side, which is probably a result of the body shape.

The neck is pretty chunky too, so it may take some getting used to if you have fingers like mine. :lol: Reaching the higher frets is bit of a stretch too because of the neck heel.

When the US hamers came, I tried the Monaco Elite, Studio and Artist. The Artist appealed to me. Flame maple with an f-hole and a killer tone

ok Mus let me look into it. but for studio custom, there's a waiting period of 3-4 mths upon order and deposit.

currently, there's only the Monaco Elite and Studio transparent red available.
