Guitars in Epi LP Price Range

I know they have different characteristics in sound.
just wanna know what you guys think and prefer for guitars in this price range.

I've not seen many Gretsch or PRS guitars for sale in soft..or do ppl overlook them? Or is it so treasured that people keep them rather than sell it. haha.

hmmm why do you wanna compare? all produces diff tones and sounds.
we do have alotta prs and gretschs, maybe u din see ahah,

Musician Friend's price quoted is not in SGD, it's in USD if i'm not wrong.. So you can't compare the prices with Singapore. An Epi LP Custom in SG at LEAST cost 1k n above.

Well i know they are quoted in USD.
Epi LP Custom is not that expensive unless you're getting Elitist.
I bought mine at $800 at sweelee after discount.

IMO, the PRS SE guitars are fantastic value for money. Good finishing and playability, and the included gigbag is on par with those costing $100-$200.

Epiphones on the other hand, I found to be quite a hit or miss affair. I had a MIK Epi Les Paul Custom Plus, it was a good looker, nice flamed maple top and finish, but it was one of the most tonally dead guitars I've played. Then again I may have just gotten a lemon, don't take my word for it, try out all the guitars in your shortlist yourself. In the end, your preference is paramount over our opinions

Yeah there are definitely lemons in every brand. And i do feel that PRS have high QC. which is why sometimes i wonder if i should have gotten PRS instead of LP.
I know the tone is different. but u can still get quite a warm tone from PRS, while also getting the jazzy/bluesy tone from PRS too.
but well..1 thing i learnt is that, don't look back. keep playing and enjoy =)

You sure you bought your LP CUSTOM at 800? or LP STANDARD at 800. Elitist STANDARD in Swee lee cost 2.2k and there's no discount for it, have to be ordered.

i forgot to mention i bought it at 40% discount during june sales.
but anyway, sweelee overprice their items way too much.
i wish i lived in japan..where i can buy guitars much cheaper. with better QC.
