guitarist in the past and present

in the past most rock guitarist has their influences from a blues guitar player hendrix for example is influence by robert johnson ,buddy guy, albert king etc.With the influence of the blues guitarist we then have hendrix,blackmore,gary moore ,satch ,vai ,malmsteen and much more.

But guitarist now is different most are becoming clone of the past guitarist,
learn to play like malmsteen ,learn to play like steve vai and so on
what really is actually happening to us

I think it depends on the player. If you particularly like certain guitarists, you'll decide to be influenced by those guitarists. I don't really think there's any trend going on because we all have our own favourites. It just happens that a lot of guitarists here are into shred so of course they'd be more influenced by Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, etc.
