Hey guys... i've got this problem with my guitar

on certain frets on the guitar, it's got this weird sound when i hammer-on or pull off from the semitone before. So when i hammer on from 8th fret to 9th fret, i get this weird fluctuating sound that's similar to a tremolo sound but shittier.. does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks.

one more thing, i realize that picking some strings will cause other strings to vibrate slightly, how to tackle this problem? thanks.

Could also be a fret has popped out a wee but after your 8th fret somewhere along the neck.

Setups can be done at many places. Do a search for some help.

Playing 1 string causes another to vibrate? Tried it without fretting anything? If it still happens, thats pretty weird and please do go for a set up.

If not, it could be your not muting the strings you don't want to ring out well enough as you play chords or lines. Find out more on string muting via educational resources like youtube~

sympathetic resonance for the strings vibration...

from wiki

Strings or parts of strings may resonate at their fundamental or harmonic frequencies when other strings are sounded. In general, non-played strings respond in sympathy to other strings being played. Two tones of the same pitch will give maximum sympathetic resonance as all harmonics of both strings will overlap. Other harmonic combinations will cause sympathetic resonance at the fifth, fourth and major third. For example, an A string at 440 Hz will cause an E string at 330 Hz to resonate, because they share an overtone of 1320 Hz (third overtone of A and fourth overtone of E).
