Guitar to Imac<>what are the things(cables) needed

i just gotten a guitar with plug-in and wanted to record it tru my imac...tried to find cables online but abit stressful...


i got all types of software but no hardware to connect it...do let me know of all the things i need and dont need...

you need an audio interface to connect between the instrument and computer

USB audio interfaces, popular brands include Line 6, M-Audio, Presonus, Apogee, Focusrite, Tascam, etc. Budget $120 to 200 depending on model, secondhand, for the lower end models.
