Guitar Setup

Dear all,

I need to do some adjustments on the high action on one of my guitar. Does it mean i need to send for a setup? May i just check with you guys who are good in setup in Singapore? (as in good service & reasonably priced) And what does a setup includes?

Any references for guitar tech. to do setup will be great.

you wanna adjust the action of the guitar = guitar needs setup.unless you know how to do it yourself.about which shop to go im not too sure.try G77 or guitar connection.they can set your guitar up but i dont really how well they do it.

Who is kc & malcom. i keep seeing their names on this forum sometimes....

I stay in the west, beez's location seem to be quite far from me... eps when i need to carry those guitar and go to his shop by mrt or bus.

btw, how much does a setup normally cost and what does it include?

Intonation, adjusting of bridge and truss rod to lower the action..
Don't know what else.. Send it to Beez! He wont disappoint.. :D
Prices vary according to different people.. Beez charges around 50 bucks, a very very good price for a professional job imo!
Of course, it'd be better if you call him yourself..
 
hmm.. usually a setup up would include of bridge adjustments, neck adjustions, action and stuff, then can also ask for stuff like intonation, cleaning of frets, healing warped neck.
usually should be around 40-60plus depending on what kind of stuff u want done

All the guys mentioned are very good indeed, though I should share that my recent setup experience at KC's was one of great satisfaction. For his prices, it's hard to go wrong, especially if you're conveniently located ard the central area. Very happy with my strat and PRS now. Thanks again KC.

I thought you were a huge fan of DIY-ing?
 
KC is Kai Chin, who works at Maestro guitars.

I personally recommend him, my guitar was very well set up by him.
50 dollars for usual set up, 70 for floyd rose.

Anthony at G77...he does a great job at a decent price too...he has helped to salvage 2 of my friends' guitars....it was kinda amazing...haha
 
for people playing rock,(iron maiden....) and playing clean tones at the same time is it advisable to go seymour duncan's distortion humbucks?please recommend me humbucks that'll help someone achieve the yin and yang tones(heavy when distorted and achieving clean tones to play other genres).basically i really dont know how to put it.just the YIN and YANG of tones.
