Hi!

If I change different string size, must go for a guitar setup uh?

If so, how much would that be?

Where is the best place?

do help me!

thnx!

i think so becuz when u change diff string gauges the tension changes.
thus u nid to adjust the neck relieve to prevert any neck probs

for set ups u can go to mike at SV cost around $25-40

im not really sure becuz i always use 9's Factory setting =)

is it possible for a bolt on neck?

yeah.u can adjust the truss rod in the guitar neck.
setups can actually be done by yourself if u know how to, if u dont just send it to tymc or sth.

I recommend Mike at Standard Value... my most recent setup was years ago, and my guitar still plays superbly. And it's a low-end Ibanez... He does the setup on the spot at least from my experience.

how much he charge u?

anyway, i wanna a setup to 13-56 gauge

Around 50 bucks if its a floyd rose/floating bridge, anything else and it should be less. He'll do it on the spot if he is at the shop provided he's free. If he's not in then you have to leave it there and pick it up another day.

FAQs on guitar set up:

1. Do I need to send my guitar for a set up?
Yes- if the action (string height-frets relationship) is messed up
No- if the action is to your liking (factory setting or otherwise)

2. Do I need a set up after switching string gauge?
Yes- if the neck warps due to the different string tension; this affects action & playability, it's not about neck warp per se
No- if the neck doesn't manifest a diverse reaction

3. Which type of action is the best?
There's no best, it's what you like. Simply put, it's that action setting which brings out the best in your playing.

4. Where do I send my guitars for a set up? How much do they charge?
The following places do guitar/ bass set-ups (among others), please call them to know the relevant charges:

*Look for Beez
*Davis GMC
*Standard Value
*TYMC

hmm.....
factory gauge i think is .9
now im using 13-56 on my unsetup guitar.........
have some buzzing going on........

so, i must send it for setup rite?

that's quite a hike in gauge size, there's buzzing because the action is now unsuitable for the thicker set. a set up should address the buzzing. if this guitar has a whammy bridge, the nut slots should also need some looking into (to prevent choking).
