Guitar Maintenance

Hey there, just got an Epiphone dot and I was wondering, is it necessary to put in one of those packs with silica gel into my guitar case to keep my guitar dry? Where to get those packs anyway?

Is there any other thing I should be taking note of?

ohh ohkay.. nah i don't exactly play it everyday. thought it will be good if i pop in one. where to get them?

and thirsty hippo? you're kidding...right?

no joke dude. i use thirsty hippo for mine. LOL! i know. its abit crappy but inside the thirsty hippo is about the same material with those silica gels.

anyway bone nuts are available at davis for 10 bucks, but you gotta file the string slots yourself.

You can get silica gel in tibits packet like want want. You can use that as they served the same purpose. As for bone nut, you can get it from Standard Value for 5 bucks. To get the bone nut to a correct height, you need to have the tools and some filing skills. Otherwise, get a guitar tech to do it for you.

Cheaper to buy the whole tub of silica gel, put them in a zip lock then poke holes in them. I bought one bottle a few years back for less than $10 (or was it $5) and have still been using it.
