Hi guys! just wanna know how much will it cost to send my guitar to the shop to set intonation? And will music stores open tomorrow??? thanks!!!

Best is to call the shop tomorrow before heading down? We wouldn't know :P

But price wise, ranges from $40 to $60. Including a full set up.

Cheers.

Its best that you learn how to set up your own guitar, including intonation. It isn't that difficult on a guitar with fixed bridge. If your guitar has a floating bridge you will need a little more patience.

Tune the guitar to standard tuning. Lets start with 1st string. Press the 12th fret and hear/see the tuning. If it is flat, adjust the saddle towards the neck. If it is sharp, adjust the saddle away from the neck. Make necessary adjustments until both open note (some might prefer 12th fret natural harmonic) and fretted note are in tune (fretted note one octave higher of course).

Ok, thats one string settled, just repeat for the rest of the guitar

Anyway I'm happily spending my CNY adjusting my guitar's intonation too... just changed to a set of strings of HEAVIER gauge (.009-.065 LOL!!)

To have your guitar properly intonated, is to basically have it 'in tune' at throughout the scale. Meaning, it's in tune at every fret throughout the neck.

Different string gauges, scale lengths, set ups, fret sizes, playing techniques and other variables can effect your instruments intonation.

If you ever wondered how come your amazing solo high up the neck never sounded exactly right, well, it's probably your intonation.

There's dozens of HOW-TO videos on Youtube teaching you how to intonate your guitar. It's easy, and very much worth learning.
