Guitar input jack issue

Whenever I plug in my cable into my guitar input jack, its like kinda hard to push it down all the way n definitely hard to take it out..i have to use a lot of force until my guitar input jack is loose but I tighten it with my thumb everytime I remove the cable..how do I remedy this?
