guitar buzzing

When I have distortion on and im not playing anything there is an annoying buzzing sound. if i put my finger on a pickup or something metal on my guitar like the input jack the sound stops.

Im using a craftsman LP with ibanez amp.

Apparently this guitar had been serviced and set up and whatever before it was sold to me.

I can't remember if the same thing happens when using the marshal at school or not but I dont think it does.

so is it my stock pickups, or guitar or amp?

Most likely your amp. You need a 3 pin plug for the power cable. Most probably you have a 2 pin one now.

hi,

another possible reason may be your electronics grounding in your guitar. it shouldn't be a serious problem.
