Guitar and termites

I heard termites will thrive in moist and damp areas and chew into mostly soft wood. I'm afraid if termites might eat into my guitars. I normally keep them in their hardcases.

1)Do keeping guitars in hardcases provide protection against pests and termites?
2)I have sweaty palms, so the neck will be kinda moist after playing. I also wipe the neck after everytime. Will that still attract termites?
3) How else to protect your guitar against termites?

I need some advice here because I'm kinda worried. Thanks in advance!

:)

so far i haven heard of cases where termites attacks a guitar. but i think putting one or two pack of silicon gel into the hardcase. should help to get rid of those moisture in the case.
termites dont chew rosewood,so i guess its able to ward off termites if your guitar has any rosewood parts. necks!

just my 2cents,hope it helps.

if you place your guitar near a termite source, then you should worry

I've seen a lot of termites, but not near any guitars :p I really don't think it's an issue unless like subversion said you know there are already termites around due to your furniture or whatever

To be honest, i don't think anything will happen.
Just keep your guitars in their hard cases after playing/wiping. Make sure theres a little silicon packet in the hard case.
I've kept my guitars in the open for years, nothing has happened to it.
About your sweaty palms, i think the only problem you'll be facing is rusty strings.

You worry too much lol tbh i've nvr seen a termite in singapore lol not even once

pls take a trip down to st pats and have a look at their pull-up bar station near the canteen. if its still there, u'll see tonnes of termites eating out the wood :)
