Hey everyone else on S.O.F.T!I'm new to the guitar and all the amps, pedals and stuff that accompany this wonderful instrument,so I thought I'd do me as well as other newbies to the guitar a favor by posting this wonderful idea I have.
So here's what'll happen.I'm going to do out a list of the things that newbies such as myself wouldn't understand and hopefully, someone'll pick off from there and help explain the terms/uses to us!

Guitar Parts
-PickUps : How the different pickups matter?(eg. P90,Humbuckers)What kind of pickups produce what kind of sound? What does it affect?

Guitar Accessories
-Amps: What to look out for when getting an amp?(eg. Different types of amps?) What does it affect?
-Pedals: What to look out for when getting a pedal? (eg. Different pedals producing different distortion???) What does it affect?

So basically this is an FAQ for the newbie guitar-enthusiasts,hopefully,replied by all the old school guitarists I know we have on S.O.F.T.I probably left out other equipments that accompany the guitar/other guitar parts that need explanation,so please feel free to include your own helpful tip/information!Thank you!!!

A:There are basically 2 kinds of pickups.
-Single Coil Pickups
-Doube-Coil Pickups also known as Humbuckers

Single coil pickups produce a much clearer sound like a "twang" sound.
Humbuckers produce a much heavier sound.(works best for distortion sounding)

A: there are basically 2 kinds of amps.
- Solid state Amps(cheaper, lighter, easier to repair)
- Tube Amps(expensive, heaver and the tubes in the amps have to be
replaced after some time)
Most would get solid state amps, thats what i would recommend for beginners.

-Pedals: What to look out for when getting a pedal? (eg. Different pedals producing different distortion???) What does it affect?

A:There are alot of different pedals, distiortion, overdrive, delay, boost etc.
Its gonna be long to explain all the types of pedals so i suggest you to
search it up.Google is your best friend

It basically affects of course the tone of your guitar.

i hope this helps
