guitar always go off tune

When does your guitar go out of tune? When you bend or whammy for instance? Do double stops? Or does it just detune over time? And also, how badly off tune does it go? Putting in another spring is going to make the trem stiffer and less movable which may or may not help depending on where the problem lies.

Tune all your strings to pitch.

If they lift the trem too high,

Detune them slightly.

Add springs AND/OR screw them further in AND/OR change how they are placed (e.g /|\ is tighter than ||| and |||| is usually tighter still), checking to see if trem is pulled back enough (estimate).

Tune to pitch again.

If trem lifts too high/low again,

Detune strings slightly again.

Adjust trem springs accordingly again.

Repeat as necessary until trem is at the height you want when all the strings are at pitch.

Now check the intonation of each string. It's probably out.
Put a block in the back to stop the trem from pulling back. Adjust the intonation. REPEAT EVERYTHING AGAIN.

Then when you change your gauge again.

YOU GET TO DO ALL THAT ALL OVER AGAIN.

Ah the joys of floating bridges.

the block should already be under the bridge.

id suggest you tighten the claws.

and make SURE they are level. both the screws are level.

i dont think the saddles would have any problems.

i tightened it alrdy but the bridge is still heightened as i tune the strings higher...u guys know where to buy springs and how much does it cost?

the bridge is supposed to hightened just a bit to account for the whammy back. but not too much.

i think you current guitar is fine and your strings are fine.
like i said you might wanna take it to someone who is proficient.
they will be able to teach you bro.

when i bought the guitar...the bridge wasnt as high as now...and whats more it always go out of tune. And i dint whammy it at all.Dint even get to play it since i changed the strings because it always go out of tune.

ok if you want help here..

i think if you take some pictures of the bridge and the claws underneath and post it here would greatly help us.

if you dont use the whammy i suggest you just block off the bridge with a wooden block so you dont get any tuning problems.

and gibby, you're wrong. i think what ark meant by putting a block is to take a piece of wood and block the bridge so it wont move AT ALL while you reintonate your guitar. this block that ark was referring to should not be there. a block and THE tremolo block are 2 different things.

you definitely have to reintonate the guitar if your bridge has moved or you just changed the string gauge. that means the saddles DO have a problem.

and the bridge is lifting off is just personal preference. there are people who set up their bridges so they get a minor third up pull or less.

oh sorry sorry wrong intrepetion la.. i get what you mean now.

its hard to see the problem with actually SEEing the problem.

You can get springs from davis. They should be really cheap.

While you still don't have springs you could see if the /|\ placement increases the tension enough.

^yeah very true. its difficult to access the problem without a picture or a very detailed explaination. i took quite awhile to visualise the problem in my head lol

thank u guys...i got the prob solved alrdy...i replaced the two old springs with 3 new ones...it wont go outta tune anymore
