when you run your sansamps through regular guitar amps, what do you do with your amp's eq?

i have a gt2 and it seems to me that i have two sets of eq now, the gt2's and the amp's. some say to set the amp at a flat eq (all at 12) or even everything at zero. since the gt2 is like a amp sim, setting everything to zero seems like the logically correct way. others tweak them to taste like maybe boosted mids t o compensate for the gt2 supposedly lack of mids(?)

help help! i feel as if i could be losing out on much of tone the gt2 could otherwise offer

Unfortunately, the GT2 has a very flat amp sim... its nothing much really, doesn't sound fabulous.

SO!

People tweak their amps, or use different amp to add more flavour to their GT2's tone. :)

So if you grab a Fender, you get sparkly but thin cleans, and that would translate to the tone of the GT2. Grab something like say, a Kustom 30RC, fat, warm cleans... you get a fatter, warmer tone.

Also... the amp's eq can be used to further fine tune your tone... its like you got a tone from the gt2, you love it.... now, run it thru an amp... you got the advantage of using the amp's eq to perhaps, up the Presence a notch or 2, and so on. A GT2 does not have a mid control remember?

Anyway, personally, I set my tiny Kustom 12A amps at home to High and Low @ 12 oclock.... I prefer a flat response because the TRI AC's eq is really really good.

Last time i had a GT2, I plugged my gt2 into my amp's input jack clean channel with the high and low eq set to like, 9 oclock to get a satisfactory sound.
For tri-ac I think it sounds better through an amp and not so great through pa.

I've heard very good stuff about the triac. would you reccomend me to buy it?

It can't do tight metal on its own.
The clips on the www.tech21nyc.com website will show you that.

But with a booster like say... some ts9dx, you can get some nice metal like chug, depending on how you set it.
