Grounding of Boss GT10 ( pics included ) - to cancel out the irritating hum!!

Connect one end of a normal electrical wire (2 metres shld do) to the screw as shown below.

Afterwhich, insert the other end into the ground cavity of the $2/- 3-pin adaptor and secure the wire to the ground pin.

Insert the Gt's 2-pin plug into the socket as below..

ThAT's all there is to it. Quite easy yet effective for groundg, at the same time, to eradicate the irritating hum, if there's any... Hope this helps soft's other GT10 users.. d:-D

you could always swap the power cord with a 3-pin power cord from your old computer? that's what i do to my amps and pp2+.

Thats the thing, that method is a no-go coz its only live/neutral pins out from the adaptor to the original power cord connector. The pc power cord has 3-pin cavities thus connection is not possible except for groundg to the metal housing which i haf done.

Why not sub the two-pin plug on the cord for a 3-pin one, instead of using an adaptor? More permanent that way.

Either that, or you can use a three pin cord, but cut the smaller end off and solder on the two pin connection to your GT-10, and the third wire directly to case. That way, less unsightly because no long electrical cable running parallel to the power cord.

1) GT10 is made in usa and based on their voltage, pretty much sure there isn't any earth wire in the original power cord so swappg to 3-pin plug is not possible.

2) Pretty sure that won't work either coz the power cord pin cavity is meant for two-pin thus cant swap the power cord with the 3-pin as u suggested.

I have a BOSS GT10 but I haven't tried this.. So far I got minimal hum because most of my preset has not enough gain and I prevent using the compressor/sustainer in my unit. But I really want to try this....thanks for sharing

No prob, bro. Btw, to add, a low hum may still occur due to bad earth ground. Switch to another power socket in ur home where necessay. d:-D

What I meant was either 1) solder the live and neutral of the power cord directly into the unit or 2)change the 2 pin socket for a 3 pin one. Just my two cents.
