Grave Silence - Melodic Death Metal Band - New Demo!

wootz Nice riffs!!! love the pedals too!!!!!

still death metal!!!! loved the fallen empire more den the new one though....

Two points.

First point, the vocalist needs to be more clear on his growls. I can make out most of it, but I still have some issues with the clarity of vocals. Other than that, the instrumental was quite intense. But the at some points the bass drum was overpowering. Especially on Losing My Sanity, the breakdown near the end. It seemed a bit outta place. But nothing too major.

Second point, is the fact that well, I kinda expected Melodic Death Metal in the sense that someone finally had clean vocals. Unless I heard wrongly, there were non of the cleans visible in MDM. Ah well, nevermind about that. Just a personal peev.

Nice job. Overall a 8.5/10 for a demo. (I do NOT compare you with only local acts. Okay, I'm fair that way. Shoot me.)

=Ferrain

melodic death metal usually dun have clean vocals at all. well i am kinda old school. melodic death that got verses of clean vocals are not "Death" could be "goth" which has gazillion clean vocals.

btw nice efford on the demo, where u guy recorded?

wow!!! thank you very much guys for the positive comments.

@Ferrain: We are having issues with the vocals duties since day 1. Vocalists come and go problem that sort of thing. In the end, we said enough is enough and yeah, as of now, both my guitarists share the same vox duties. We are definitely working to improve the vocals and growls. As of now, we have no plans to add clean vocals, maybe because we think it's a abit whiny to add them into our songs. Drums-wise, I thought the crash cymbals were abit overpowering. Gotta admit the sound of the bass drum is not up to my expectations. Anyway, cheers for the rating man!! yeah!!

@lordie: we recorded the drums at greendoor studios. The guitars and bass were DIY, recorded at home. Part of the vocals were recorded at home and jamming studio. most of it were diy.

cheers!!

lol, the vocals are ok in a way due to the fact that it gives you guys the originality.....as for the other things mentioned o guess its the props problems like getting better gear LOL...... btw you got a new FAN....and THATS ME!!! hahahhaha

Well, then its okay. Just that melodic death metal to me has always had a bit of clean. Doesn't matter to me much, as I said, its personal. About the crashes, well, I didn't expect perfection or anything near awesome, but for what you've done, it exceeded what I have expected already, so it didn't bother me as much. (lets just say I have bad experiences with crappier drummers). But as I said earlier, overall, it was quite awesome. Intend to see you guys live if possible! (Nah, not yet though. exams just around the corner :(. Have to do something. So yeah, for now, have to be content with another band worth the listen.)
