If you have the chance, do a head-to-head on all 3 German amps;

(a) H&K Triamp Mark II
(b) Bogner Ecstacy
(c) Diezel Herbert
(d) Engl Savage 120

These amps are pretty close apple to apple comparisons (multi-channel amps).

Edit: added Engl to list. any other German amps I forgot?

i owned bogner XTC..definetely the beast for the money..
but don't expect it for MESA/SCREAM tone. but had to let go couple month ago.
friends has DIEZEL Herbert direct from him at NAMM Show couple years back. it was monstrous tone. i think Diezel is new favorite amp among guitarist around the world.

which one was that? I had a xtc 100b before too. Bogner builds a fine amp, just a little overkill though fun to use once in awhile.

Agreed, that its the current blue eyed boy of the high gain-multi channel world.

Its interesting that so many of these modern styled amps are coming out of Germany.

They seem quite happy not to build upon the yesteryear "classic" amp models, rather, to work on new designs with their own voicings.

I think these Germans can really engineer amps though its a pity that their high price point makes it difficult for the man in the street to actually own one.

Then again, perhaps that may be their exact intention.
