noooooooooooo............ i seriously dislike the look of the 70s headstock....

its sooooo, soooooo soooooo biggggggggggggggg

The Highway One series is upgraded for '06! Super-size frets, '70s styling, new alnico pickups and new colors take this amazing guitar to the next level.

The new pickups on the Highway One Stratocaster guitar produce a more round tone that can sound glassy and great with high gain.

The new pickups on the Highway One Telecaster guitar produce a more round sound with that great Fender sparkle; it also has great high-gain sounds.

Alnico 3's.

i was informed that the new, revised look will also feature a 3-bolt joint system, typical of a 70s model.

Fender has received requests for more 70s style headstock (the only model featuring this headstock in the H1 series is the HSS version) & it seems that the Jap 70s type Strats have been out-selling the other incarnations. there isn't about to be a Jap import in the american market, so here's the answer...

body/ neck wood remain unchanged. maple/ rosewood fingerboard still offered.

hahaha... Greasebucket finish!

but seriously, those new pickups sound interesting to me. supposed to have less of the extreme highs - so they should sound less brittle when distorted, but yet they supposedly retain the glassy strat clean tone.

the Greasebucket circuitry enables the bridge treble to be rolled back without added bass (in other words, less of the highs but no extra mud)
