After watching a few of the GEM Awards programme (Go-the-Extra-Mile), I think I do have things to share about the good services that we can find in our local music stores.

Where: CityMusic
Who: Gary
How:

I bought a Korg DT-10 stage tuner from citymusic sometime this April. After just a few weeks of usage, the footswitch didn't respond properly. Back then, I was too busy to go back to the shop to get it replaced/repaired.
When I finally did it, it was during June.

When I got to the shop, I approached Gary, who was readily there to serve me. Without much delay, he quickly checked the pedal by putting in a 9V battery and hooking it up to a guitar to test the response of the footswitch.
Immediately, he identified the problem and got all the paper work done after I handed over to him the warranty card. He told me he will try his best to get their techician to have a look at the problem, and that they will get back to me within a few days. I left the pedal with him and i left the shop at 4pm.

To my surprise, on the very same day, at 6:30pm, I received a phone call from CityMusic. Gary called, and told me that the pedal was repaired and ready for collection. I went there, and Gary went thru' the same hassle of hooking up everything to show me how well the pedal is working after the repair. He told me the techician had replaced the footswitch. Finally, he packed things back nicely into the box and handed the Korg DT-10 back to me. He was friendly thru'out, and he showed his interest to help me.

Probably I'm the few "lucky ones" to have experienced this, but it sure was a quick and good service that I appreciated.

Just sharing. :)

Iman, over to you. I think you have such for sharing too right?

:smt041 hope we all get a piece of ur luck sometime

for now....im happier with Beez (G77),Kalai(Sweelee) and Janet(Davis)

Exemplary service

And an extra special vote for Mr.Misse and Randolf...the coolest guys ever to deal with

Theres this store beside maestro guitars in peninsula. (The one opposite luthers). It was near closing time and I need to get a wireless system which can accomodate 02 wireless mics asap. The lone m/ch/25 - 28 yrs/medium built was very helpful. He was easy going and made me feel at ease with his straightforward views on the wireless system and his attitude was not lacking.Initially I was expecting him to heckle me considering the time but I was proven wrong. He did not even show any tell tale signs or body language signalling me finish up asap with whatever Im doing. I eventually bought the system. Just things to note

a) I was wearing jeans and t-shirt
b) The only reason I bought the item was of the good service of the sales person(Cost is not a factor as they are for my office - Which means Im not paying for them,My office does)

Does anyone else wanna share their good experience?

haha yeah, Beez is really frenly and not to mention a few laughs....He can really warm to u and sometimes i spend more time playing guitar in his shop than just trying out the stuff.....

Kudos to good service. 8)

i did have a pleasant experience once. it was at... swee lee bras basah(hold you knives, ppl). but there was this nice guy who goes by the name of SAM, who attend to me all the way when i was looking for an overdrive pedal, from the recommendation to the testing, he helped everything out. awesome service. a role model for local music shops. kudos!

ryan from swee lee bras basah. hes my version of exemplary service in singapore. but now i tend to buy my stuff overseas. i get way better service that way.

Hmm, Actually for me everyone I've met so far has had great service rendered to me.

This is a shout out to the guys at Luther(Mr Luther and the nice malay chap), Guitar Connection(Kai Chin and Kelvin) ,Guitar workshop, Davis(all the staff), Sweelee(The chinese dude with a great attitude and patience), G77 Beeze and family over there, City Music(Tattooed guy and BErnard),Yamaha(Kelvin I think his name was),Sinemax(Nice Guys) ..MusicTheme(Blondie..HAHAH)....not forgetting the dodgy experiences at Misse(Eeyong-see him more as a friend than anything else) :D ...

Great Job guys!!

Well maybe I'm just easy to please.

cheers to Burn (guy with loads of killer tattoos and metal on him) of City Music. answered all the questions I shot at him when I bought my Korg D888.

(opposite of the meaning of this thread but the whole story)
but to hell with the ladies working there, when I asked for "Korg D888" she said don't have, until I mentioned "the one that costs $1K+ and i spoke to Burn just yesterday!" and she said "oh wait have have."

G77 dude! even when i was (and am) a really bad guitar player he was like

"oh try your guitar on my amp la"

and he was really nice when answering all my questions..

but they seemed confused abt the wood of the schecter 006 extremes :D the staff gave me different answers :D
