Haven't posted for a long time (which I'm sure most wouldn't notice nor miss me).
Not sure how many of you went to watch Global Metal during the Singapore Film Festival (I only know RazrAsh went). Was an awesome metal documentary showing us and the world that metal music is more than just a genre. It unites people across races, religion and borders.

For those who didn't get a chance to see it, go buy the dvd when it's out. Also there is going to be a new dvd that will be launched in April. It's call Aural Amphetamine: Metallica and the Dawn of Thrash. It's available on Amazon for pre-order.

I'd watched that show with my girlfriend. It's a great show, showcasing metal from all the world... Tells us that metal isn't just a Western society thing. It's a nice show but it lacks the originality of the original Metal: A Headbanger's Journey.

I think it's great. I thought the last part where he went back to India to watch Maiden play was cool and a little touching to see 30,000 fans chanting...I guess people who don't listen to metal will never understand what it feels like being a metal fan. And of course, the stereotyping by others who think we're all devil worshippers

Agree. Most people being biased in music tends to see metal as a phase for a kid going through teenage rock and roll baptism. Metal music is loud, crude and blah blah blah. It's bullshit when people say metal musicians have no talent. And people who listen to metal are just angry people with no taste. I surely don't see how Britney Spears has more talent than Dave Mustaine. This very same group of people did not bother to examine beyond the songs and understand what the song was written about. They seriously need to get past this metal=satanism crap.

The Heavy metal = Satanism / teenagers passing phase bullshit never fails to f**king piss me off. People also tend to think heavy metal includes all that metalcore stuff, and never get to hear the real deal. What's with that? I think heavy metal's really the most dissed form of music alive, and those who diss it probably haven't heard true heavy metal before. C'mon, we're more rebellious than gangsta rap can ever be. We're the real deal!

Reminds me I haven't worn my spikes in a long time. I'd better get them out, walk into high-class territory and show 'em I don't give a flying shit what they think. Heavy metal for life, up the irons!

You're damn right dude. We've got an attitude with our music that we like. At least we only vent our anger in our heads when we listen to the stuff. We don't go around pretending to be black dudes and shoot people...

Heavy metal fans have to be one of the most honest of fans across all musicall genres...

No doubt. Metal=satan is the stalest shit around. Even if it's true, who gives a rat's ass? At least it's non-mainstream religion!

It's alright and within our rights to worship Satan, if we ever do so. It's called liberty.

A lot of people just cannot understand our music because in their eyes, music is only Gimme More. I won't diss other genres of music because I feel they should be respected too... But pop and hip-hop? No way man.

Metal is more than music. Just like the show has mentioned.

But I want the bullet belt too! I shall buy myself lots of batteries.

I thought the Slayer graffiti on Iranian walls was funny too!
