aiyah guys, people only have one post eh. relax lah, but yeah. good advice for you. search the forum before you ask. or you'll get flamed to a nice crisp.

It's ok as I was faced with this option anxiety in my beginning years...long time ago now. :)

What I can share of hopefully useable interest to you is to look for a guitar that is with full humbuckers in the bridge and neck and wih coil splitting and reverse phase or parellel/series switching capabilties. This is exactly what I had on my very first electric guitar. It was an Aria Pro II Cardinal series which I woodsheded and is now in storage but I still own it. Hope this helped somehow.

Regards

one piece of good advice.

Find someone who knows a thing or two about guitars and ask him/her to help you pick the most suitable and value for money one.
Dont make any expensive mistakes.

yes!! go for Schecter guitar...is good man...u no need to change anymore when u r expert!! if u wan to change no one stopping la..ahahas..depends model..=D

Budget? Style of music? Influences? Type of sounds looking 4? We need all this information to help u. U cld try the Washburn X-11B at SL or the Schecter Omen 6 in G77. Both excellent guitars. Jus install coilsplit and ur ready to rock. If u have more cash, get the Washburn X50 also frm SL. Neck-thru, nice sounding pickups, loads of sustain. Most ppl tend to overlook Washburns in their quest for their ideal guitar. Washburn makes excellent instruments and shld be seriously considered. Or u cld try Corts, also mostly overlooked like Washburns but excellent Q/C, build quality, materials and electronics, esp. pickups make them very good choices. Of course, they are very very reasonably priced too. Ultimately, trust ur ears. They are the ones that will tell u wat sounds gd or bad. Dun go making expensive mistakes like choosong Fenders when u are actually an LP kinda guy and so on.

im sorry to say, but, YMMV, ive had bad experience with washburn guitars, and those throw-in-free amps that come with the starter pack. yucks.

Kahuna, i'm surprised u didn't know that! Yes theyd o, but they keep them at the back of the shop with the other 'not so impt' stuff. Starter packs are generally lousy, have had bad experiences frm many starter packs no matter wat the brand, frm Ibanez to Jackson(yes, Jackson). The only one to have just passed muster was the SX SST61 pack. IMHO, Washburn does make gd axes and they are definitely worth checking out. Happy hunting!
