Hi, just wondering, can bands perform at ben and jerry's? i've heard of bands performing, but how do i go about applying? are there auditions?

hell no they don't hahahah . Auditions have become stricter . Ben and Jerry's recently met up with all the bands and told them what they expect hahaha and i really don't like the manager's attitude but he does have some very good musical advice . If you think you're band can pull off a really good acoustic set (yes its not limited to acoustic sets) then go approach the counter staff

heys just approach the counter and arrange for an audition day. should be quite easy to arrange, though may have to queue behind some other bands.

the few times i went there, the bands did mainstream pop and rock. the in-house band is good!

haha.....my friends played GnR, Velvet Revolver and Aerosmith there....the manager had to tell them to turn the volume down...

please ensure that ur bands dont play before 9 pm, not matter what slot the "excellent" management gives you. Cathay Management does not allow music to be played before 9 pm, regardless of genre. My band had first hand kicking-out experience even though we played good music and random ppl were stopping by to watch.

from what i heard, the bands need to have a playlist of 80 songs, and the manager will choose any of the 80 songs and ask you to play them on the spot. this is to filter out the good bands from the ok bands.

for acoustic group, i think it's 40 songs.

they're not looking for metal bands as they claim that it would chase away some of their customers. (but wouldn't that attrack metalheads to B&J?) so im guessing they're looking for more mainstream or easy-listening music.

hope it helps

hmm not really on the metal fans side. cos their live setup isn't even close to the metal sound. actually not even anything heavy genre-ed. their cymbals look like it's gonna give way anytime soon, i'd rather record pots and pans than those. so acoustic's the way to go @ B&J i guess..

DeathCubeK : in your "other words." in my words is - more mellow stuff.

gay stuff unless you mean literally the musician is gay. like savage garden, elton john and george michael. B&J is simply not built for a proper rock band or anything with high gain distortion
