Gig on Saturday or gig on sunday?

hi guys.

Ive noticed that most gigs are on Saturdays, for logical reasons because the next day is Sunday and can rest or go out etc.

Ive talked to a few friends who agree that gigs on Sundays dont really attract much people.

What do you think?

i would tend to agree, having played different venues on both nights. This being said, if Thom Yorke came unannounced at the Waterfront on a Sunday night, i'm sure he would draw at least 100 to 150 people...

Friday nights in the clubbing scene = havoc, wild, tonnes of pple

Saturday nights in the clubbing scene = still quite a lot of pple

Sunday nights in the clubbing scene = quiet as the next day most unfortunate ppl have to drag their feet out of bed and go to work.

But this is just in my opinion lah.

To me saturday is the best day for a gig to held, as the most bombastic events/occasions that we happen to have on our weekends is on saturday. It's kind of having a more relaxed feeling rather than going for a gig on sunday and thinking about having school the very next day..

Saturday would be the best days. It would allow musicians to use the whole day to focus on playing and the next day is a resting day, provided that we assume that these musicians concurrently hold another day job or have responsibilities to fulfill. Saturday is also a good day for people to watch concerts as they would be more energetic to watch the concert. Again, hold the assumption that they hold 9 to 5 jobs on weekdays or have responsibilities to attend to. Friday would probably drain them out too much

Sunday is never a good day. Anberlin is playing Baybeats on Sunday, which forces me to take leave the next day so I can rest after a good, wild, energetic performance ;D

Either friday or saturday would be the best. People want to rest on sunday so most will just laze around at home while preparing for school/work the next day.

Anberlin is performing on a sunday,and i have exams on monday. Damn it. Haha, that said, will still go for the friday session to check out some local talents like West Grand Boulevard, For This Cycle and The Great Spy Experiment

And i have school the next day..

And most of the gigs ive been too have been on saturdays..
I wouldn't dream of going for a gig on a sunday...
Plus im a family man! HAHA

Fridays aint that good either..
I had a gig on a friday then most of my friends like didnt come cos they were too tired after school and stuff like that..

And also because they didnt have cash to pay for the gig as it was during the holidays and most people of my age dont get allowance from our parents during holidays...Or would have spent all they're allowance during the weekday..

So you gotta think of all these possibilities before organising a gig..
