as said, up to personal preference. no "one opinion fits it all".
If you want the original design, the vintage vibe, the gibson neck carve etc. go for it, you'd pay the price for authenticity IMO. I had a Gibson Les Paul VOS 58', loved the neck carve. i never had the same neck carve in any other gibson USA or replica. the vintage top stylings etc are cool. of course, i avoided sweelee like a plague. bought from US at around 2k plus, great deal.
THAT SAID, what i cannot stand about Gibsons, especially the Gibson USA line, is that you pay so much for the guitar and you'd still have to spend money for add-ons (pickups, caps, speedknobs, pickups, tonepros bridge) and various other minor repairs or setups (nut slot not well cut, unsanded edges on the bridge etc). its iffy i tell you. you pay that much, but things come incomplete.
