any idea how does the real thing cost?
there are a few versions i think

custom, standard, studio, special?
what are the diferences?

what do you guys think of tokai sg?

as gibsons are probably out of my budget

currently thinking of getting a SG in dec

yay another SG fan. are u one..? haha ok if im not wrong an sg standard is $2900. special is cheaper n customs are higher. it is said that the tokai sg is better than the gibson one but im not really sure tho. but what im sure is that the tokai one costs much more than the gibson one. if u cant afford a gibson yet, u might want to try an epiphone onn. the er, G-400. i have one and it really rocks

the Tokai SG, the one @ Davis now is a wonderful player, despite being Korean, it sports a set-neck construction.

if you are keen, i'd say you should look into Yamaha's MSG for a super performance guitar this side of Gibson. both the MSG1000/ 2000 gets my thumbs up...

you can ask davis to import edwards guitars?

last time i asked them if they import specific LTD models, they said they wont.

Epiphones are fine for budget I think.

I've an Epi Gothic G-400 (SG). It's sweet, cost about $520 after discount. Lots of people say it's so much cheaper yet at least 2/3 the quality of a Gibson. Give it a try at sweelee(if they're still stocking those).

is a gibson special faded SG worth it? i really fancy these kind of finish. yes i hate laquers ala those shiny reflective finish. anyway is gibson special faded a bolt on or set neck? i saw some pictures on ebay, one the backview of a sg, i saw a nut like thing on its back area. im not too sure whether its a sticker or a nut itself. anyway it will be weird if its only reinforced by one nut. hmm

anyway wats the differences between gibson sg faded and sg standard? only finish? or there is difference in the wood quality? sg faded is 2 piece wood right?
