I want!I want!

btw whats the retail price of lp studio?thats like the only affordable gibson lp for my age at the moment(not forgetting the numerous days of saving).hopefully when i grow older i can buy a custom or get my future wife to buy me a gibson les paul supreme gold top.hehehehehe!!

the list price for BFG is $2.4K, the only reason why it's $1.7K is because it's the promo price.

a regular LP Studio would list for $3K+/-

edwards standard cost like bfg.but g77 only got those flemetop.never seen any custom being brought in.

hun 3k?....wow i bought mine 1999-2000 about 1.5k at swee lee....i sold it last year at 900 bucks.... damn

yes, that's how much more the Studio cost these days, same goes for the other LPs... please do not peg yesteryears' prices against today's units.

I personally use a Gibson Les Paul Studio in Metallic Yellow - see avatar!

They're not crap, very playable and sound incredible with the right setup. Build is debatable, but then again even some of the top range Gibs priced at $10K have NOT seen better days.

I would rate the/my LP Studio a 7.5~8/10 as a whole.

killinghall, no doubts about that. LP studio's are able to hold a class of it's own. :)

take example guitar legends like Gary Moore and Joe Perry (the black one, not boneyard) uses the Studio and have signature models after them.

I am not so sure about consistent quality differences in terms of sound and playablility.

I have owned a total of 8 different SGs and LP standards, specials and studios over the years, all i can say are that because its all handmade, its really careful selection that gets you that prized piece.

Honestly, the "studio" and "standard" tags are really cosmetic considerations. The "Gibson" sound is always present there, I know...i still own 7 different Gibson models. Only thing is each piece has its nuances because they are all made individually by human hands and not machine pressed.

And to all the naysayers to Gibsons, its all about the set up too and playing it in. Own one first for a period of time and try it against all amps in all situations, and you will know why some of us are Gibson fanatics.
