Hi guys,

Anyone know where I can get my hands on one of these fellas?

Its really beautiful with its own touch IMO.

How much damage we're looking at? :D

the Gibson USA Les Paul Special Single-cutaways with P100 pickups were made starting from 1995 and were discontinued in 1999.

here's mine, i bought it from my friend hub4thailand recently.. he was trying to sell it online for some time.

it's a '96 i think. the pickups were changed to Lindy Fralin P90s.

you can try searching ebay for a used one, they go for around US$1000-1200..

only way to get a new one now is a Gibson Custom Shop/Historic 1960 Les Paul Special Reissue, which is around $4k or up..

Lemon, i love it.. my friends who've tried it said it sounds very different from my other guitars, in a good way. i'm curious, why did you sell it? and did it have its stock pickups when you sold it?

coz these Fralin P90s just kill in this guitar..

what drew me to this guitar?

i've had bad GAS for a TV yellow les paul special for the longest time.

i have a big collection of vintage les paul special photos. :)

i saw what i think was this very same guitar hanging at guitar connection a few years ago, but sadly, couldn't afford it then.

so when i saw that my friend hub4thailand was selling it at a decent price, it was a no-brainer.

how different does it sound? ok lets compare it to a humbucker les paul.

the neck pickup is thicker in the lower mids.. it gets creamier and rounder with overdrive. and yet articulate. it sounds like a chocolate milkshake.

the bridge pickup is more raw and raunchy sounding. very rude, like an ah beng shouting vulgarities.

the combination of both, is pure funk :)

You are a blessed man... thanks for sharing!

Whats the damage on it, if you don't mind sharing. PM me if you will. If its within reach, maybe I'll start saving for one.

I gotta admit, looking at this guitar, it makes me happy. Dunno if its about the color, or the down to earth aesthetics without the fancy fret board inlays and head stock from the usual Les Pauls. Like it lots man...

the whole package just looks so right.

i paid around the starting range of the ebay value i stated earlier in this thread.

Man.... it certainly looks gorgeous when played live.

Very very nice of you to send me the clip bro!

Thanks lots! I'm saving up for one!

I traded it with hub4thailand. Always finds Les Paul hard to play from 17th frets onwards. A pity, it sounded real good with the fralins! The fralins are already installed when I traded with hub4thailand.

most beautiful and appealing les paul I have set my eyes upon. I think Nick valensi from the strokes uses one.

Yeah.... its something really appealing about the flat top and the dot inlays. Not complicated, simple and a real happy color to boot. The LP as it is, without the frills.

Really something I'd want to own in future.
