Gibson/Epiphone Thunderbird Pro

kinda silly, really. first Epiphone claimed that the reason why they didn't want to place the strap button on the back of the body was because of the metal plate there due to a bolt-on neck. now that this model is a neck through, they could have at least moved the strap button to give it better balance.

i expect it to be quite pricey compared to the normal Epiphone. wonder how is sounds though.

and btw there is no Gibson model, it's only Epiphone.

i think it'll neckdive more if the strap pin is placed behind :)

nope, it has better balance if the strap button is on the back. makes sense if someone actually bothers to go and do the centre of gravity thing. but anyway, more practically, i compared mine and the Epi, and mine had better balance.

actually i dont understand the centre of gravity thing cos my physics aint that good when i was in sec sch. it makes more sense that neck dive will be more of a problem when the strap button is placed at the back. but the fact is that it doesnt. the location of where the strap buttons is on the epiphone tbird really causes neck dive, unlike the gibson strap buttons positioning. i know this because like b33r, i've tried it for myself, partly because we live in the same house so i kinda play with his gear often.
