So, after a month of trying to get a quote from Davis Guitar for the Genz Benz shuttle 6.0 Bass amp head, they finally told me that they are not the dealer for Genz Benz anymore. (yes, they took a month to figure that out, unfortunately)
This amp then popped up on the Talkbass classifieds in mint condition, and i jumped on it almost immediately. And after a long wait, its finally here! First impression after taking it out of the box: Wow! its really light!!!
At less than 2kg, its lighter than my laptop, and considering this thing puts out 600watts into 4 ohms, and has a tube preamp, its really a wonder how they managed to squeeze into this small and light package. (pics with an EBS microbass II for comparison)
Specs from the Genz Benz website:
Shuttle Series | GENZ BENZ
And they nicely bothered to provide for a peek at the tube preamp as well, even lighting it up with blue leds. =)
haven't got a chance to plug it to a cab to test yet, but first impressions of the preamp wihle plugging into a 10 watt dean markley amp (i took out the signal from the effects loop send jack) is pretty good. =) Hopefully will get to test it out more over the weekend. And yes, the LEDs are BRIGHT!
