does that mean that if u have active pickups, no matter what kinda wood or bridge ur guitar have, even rotting wood with mushroom growing, it'll sound the same?

if that's the case, you wouldn't put EMGs in there in the first place... those mushrooms would give very bad tone... :smt106

i've forgotten to include the SA120 list price, it retails for $480... if you get a 20% discount, it'll be below the $400 mark- well worth it IMO!

No lah, just an example only. And just wanna know if what my impression of EMG true. The mushroom example is over exagerating. LOL
so is it? cause i never had money to buy new pickups nor guitar.

Erm, since this is all talk about guitar. Would like to know, for the GSA60 back in 2001, are those basswood or agathis?

yup, the 2001 batch was agathis- the reason i bought the GAX70, it has a very warm midrange which i like. i expected to hear that because agathis is a mahogany family member... i had a Duncan '59 in the neck & it sounds really sweet, but sold it off already...

with regards to Marty Friedman, maybe in 2 month's time, he'll appear magically in Singapore? maybe his plane took a wrong turn & ended up in Changi airport?

care to read between the lines?

did you read my previous post (above) & somehow had faith in it? well here's good news- Marty Friedman is scheduled to be in Singapore on 25th May 2005, S'pore Poly auditorium... pray that there would be no SARS outbreak, otherwise, it's another Joe Satriani... 8) see you there!

that's why Kirk has bad tone, IMO

bad tone? how bad it is? maybe u r refering to the latest album? would like u to elaborate ur opinion.
the richest band in the world has milions of fans who love their music...and i should say one of the reason y they r so successful is bcoz of their sound..tone.
