the new Ibanez Toneblaster X amps are in (swee lee). if you think the previous Toneblaster units need a serious revision tone-wise, that's what Ibanez did with the X-series TB amps. the prices remain very affordable, the 150W head lists for $680.

the amp's tonal options have also been expanded, thanks largely to the stacked midrange control; if you think BOSS' Metal Zone is wonderful because of this feature, Ibanez did well to include them in their amps. there is also a more organic gain/ drive in the X-series, if you dislike the previous incarnation due to the less refined drive voicing, this X will be more pleasant.

the real surprise however, lies in the clean channel which features a GAIN option. max this up & you'll hear bits of the Tubescreamer in the works- impressive to say the least...

if you are interested, i'd suggest you start with the TBX30R, after disct, it's not even $300...

i

I realli recommend this Ibanez Tone Blaster X, its
a realli good amp. Power Overdrive ............

i was really skeptical with the new TBX units (because the former incarnations weren't tonally appealing, average at best) but hearing is believing 8)

i'm also glad that things in the solid state front are sounding real good, Ibanez joins Peavey, Crate & Randall in offering some of the best in the tubeless amp realm. the affordable price tag is applaudable.

Gain on the clean channel? similar to Marshall's AVT head. Always liked that slight breakup in clean settings. Grain knows his amps well, defintely a better generation of TBX here. must try.....
