Hello.

Just got my iMac recently and am exploring Garageband. The interfaces are very different from Windows (have been using windows all my life! :S) and, all I'm doing right now is just drag, drop, play.

I don't really know what other things I can do with GB. Like how to loop a particular segment of a track for how many times and etc.

Anyone kind enough to share some links or videos as to know GB better? Or maybe even kind enough to offer some real life crash course. :p Lunch on me!

Thanks!

Rgds,

bro, garageband just like a girl, looks complicated, but damn simple to 'use' after u do trial and error . For GB,don't be afraid to do wrong things, for you can always delete it. But depends if u wanna play with its loops/do RealTime recordings / Both at the same time .

when i 1st started using GB,i anyhow bang , Press this button see whats that, press another and see what happen, for you,i recommend you go 1 button after another, get a mild concept of what each does, play around with the mini key board , listen to the loops one at a time,On/off metronome, play with the pitchings / tempos and so on,who knows, you mighteven dig up some gold in it . ;)

To simplify things,

- work with 01 audio or SOftware instrument track.

Do all kinds of stuff to it

- Control/command/option+drag click the region or anywhere in the arrange area
- Position your mouse everywhere on the region and watch the mouse cursor change to a loop tool or resize tool.

Hit spacebar to play the song.
- Hit "Z"
- Hit Command/control + arrow keys
- Hit left or right arrow keys
- Hit "C"
- Hit "R"

These are some basics.
All the functions and key combinations/commands are listed on the right side of all the menus.

Best.
